Here The Cleo Farr American Legion we support our youth sports. With the schools taking the lead on baseball. In Salina, it's a challenge to find coaches and players to form a Legion Baseball team. Yet, many professional baseball players got their start with Legion ball. Including Bob Davis and Steve Crawford from our Post 240!

When we set out to sponsor a team, Air Force Veteran, Wayne Plumee found us a solution. Wayne began assisting the Salina Elementary Archery team a few years back. Him and his wife, Linda, have been instrumental in the growth of the team. With their patience, skills and persistence, they bring to the Post a team with an impeccable skill set.

 

This year they have produced both boys and girls State 3D Archery champions. The team has placed 2nd in 3D and 3rd in bullseye state competition. We are proud of this team and proud that a Veteran was able to pass on to the youth of our Great Nation. 

 

There is still more to come. The Team has been invited to compete at the National Level in Louisville Kentucky.

Funding for all of this is by donation and they are currently selling tickets for a Ruger 10/22 American Flag edition. This was donated by a local gun store. If you are interested in donating, please email us.
